I work with ritual, body, and myth.
Through layered textiles, masks, and movement, I explore the sacred as something shifting—hidden in gestures, coded in cloth, summoned through presence. Each piece is a threshold, a fragment of a forgotten ceremony rewritten in the now.
About the Artist
Hi, my name is Yulia
I am a multidisciplinary artist working across performance, costume, tattooing, digital drawing, and installation. My creative journey began with a deep love for classical pencil drawing and portraiture, gradually evolving into more abstract, symbolic, and ritual-based practices. Over the years, I’ve explored how the body can become a sacred space—through movement, textiles, and transformation.
For the past eight years, I’ve also worked as a tattoo artist. This intimate form of expression has grounded my connection to skin, touch, and personal storytelling. At the same time, I continue to explore digital illustration as my main visual medium, where I delve into dark, surreal atmospheres filled with layered meanings and emotional depth.
My work often draws from ancient rituals, mythologies, and folk traditions, reimagined through a contemporary lens. I am particularly interested in the fusion of the mystical and the technological—how ancestral symbols can speak in new tongues.
Originally from Ukraine, I studied both international relations and art before fully devoting myself to creative practice. I recently completed my Fine Arts degree with a final performance and installation titled Temple, which explored the idea of the body as the last sanctuary in a fragmented, digitized world.
Art for me is a form of quiet resistance and inner ritual—a way to reach beyond what’s visible and touch the unknown.
